What are ClearCorrect clear aligners?

Folks who want less crooked teeth but never received orthodontics because of cost or access barriers now have a convenient and affordable solution. Clear Correct and Invisalign are two brands that straighten teeth through clear trays.

Most people will consider wearing braces, but braces can be painful or you may not want to wear one due to aesthetic reasons. Fortunately, there is a very effective, permanent alternative – ClearCorrect. ClearCorrect clear aligners straighten teeth invisibly, without metal braces.

How do ClearCorrect

aligners work?

ClearCorrect is an orthodontic tool that dentists recommend to straighten crooked teeth. Often used as an alternative to traditional braces, they are a series of custom-made, clear or transparent and easily removable plastic aligners, personalized according to the patient’s requirements.

These aligners slowly move the crooked tooth or teeth little by little, until it is fully corrected, revealing straight, perfectly aligned teeth. A patient has to wear ClearCorrect aligners at all times during the course of the treatment, except during drinking, eating, brushing or flossing. During these times, the patient himself or herself can easily remove the aligner and place it back on after they are done. Currently, ClearCorrect is one of the most popular clear aligner brands. It is also easily available for residents of Devon, Alberta at Devon Neighbourhood Dental.

What are the benefits of ClearCorrect?

ClearCorrect aligners have a number of benefits they offer to patients with various dental issues. They are listed below:

ClearCorrect aligners are thin and invisible: Designed keeping aesthetics in mind, ClearCorrect aligners are extremely thin, yet strong and durable, and completely transparent. This means that people won’t even notice that you are wearing one.

ClearCorrect aligners are easily removable: Another huge advantage is that ClearCorrect aligners can be easily removed anytime you are eating, drinking, brushing your teeth or flossing. This means no disruption to your everyday life, you can eat whatever and whenever you like.

ClearCorrect aligners do not require metal wirings: Unlike braces, ClearCorrect aligners are free of metal wirings. This makes it easier to eat and chew without having food stick in the wires, nor will you face difficulty while brushing or flossing.

What should I expect at the start of treatment?

When you visit Devon Neighbourhood Dental to get your ClearCorrect aligners made, Dr. Laheeb Quddusi will take photos and x-rays and use a scanner or impressions to capture the shape of your teeth, and submit your prescription to ClearCorrect.

He then sends these records to the ClearCorrect lab in Texas, USA. Here, an accurate three-dimensional model of your teeth, based on your records, is custom-made. A complete and comprehensive treatment plan will then be created by the treatment team based on your unique condition.

This will include the process of gradual realignment which will slowly re-position your crooked teeth – from the current position of the tooth/teeth to the desired position by you and Dr. Quddusi. After treatment planning, a before and after treatment digital representation of your teeth, called a treatment set-up, can be viewed. The ClearCorrect team will email you your treatment set-up and you will have to reply with your approval or if you are not totally satisfied, you can make adjustment requests. The clear custom aligners are then made with state-of-the-art computer precision, and digital mapping and moulding technology.

Four phases of ClearCorrect aligner therapy

There are four phases in the ClearCorrect aligner therapy. For each phase, you will need a new set of aligners, and you will have to wear them for three weeks each. The period between each of the phases makes time and space for flexibility and control.

As mentioned before, ClearCorrect aligners should be worn all the time during the extent of the treatment. The best part about ClearCorrect aligner is that they are fully transparent and thin, making them barely noticeable. Plus, they will not disrupt your daily routine, whether at work or home in any way.

After you wear an aligner for each phase, you will notice that your teeth are slowly straightening and adjusting to their desired position. This means that after each phase, you can see gradual progress towards your desired set of teeth. You will be required to visit Dr. Quddusi on a regular basis to check and evaluate your progress and see when you can advance to the next phase. This is the sequence you will have to follow until you have completed the last and fourth phase of the ClearCorrect aligner treatment.

The duration of the treatment can be from one to two years. It depends on your unique condition and the degree of teeth crookedness or misalignment. Patients can benefit from three distinct treatment options:

  • Unlimited: In this type of treatment, as the name suggests, you will be given however many aligners you require until you achieve your desired set of teeth and the perfect smile.
  • Limited 12: In this type of treatment, you will be provided with twelve sets of aligners and this is expected to be enough to correct your crooked teeth.
  • Limited 6: In this type of treatment, you will be provided with six sets of aligners and this is expected to be enough to correct your crooked teeth.

Depending on each option, the cost of ClearCorrect aligner therapy will differ. The “Unlimited” option is usually the most effective, and understandably the most expensive as well. If you think you are a suitable candidate for ClearCorrect aligner therapy and for further consultation, you can book an appointment with Dr. Laheeb Quddusi at Devon Neighbourhood Dental.
